Cesar Chavez Day is important to all of us. Cesar Chavez was an activist who helped bring human rights, dignity, and equality to farm workers who had been exploited, and are often still exploited in the agricultural regions of the US. We celebrate his birthday to remember the struggle of all laborers, all workers who are striving for a better life and have dreams to improve their skills, to get a better job, and to educate themselves and their children either through work opportunities or school.
